DESLOCADO ALBUM
The Challenge:
How can an album cover visually express the feeling of being “deslocado” or out of place, and emotionally distant without relying on literal or overly dramatic imagery? The goal was to create something subtle yet deeply atmospheric, reflecting both the music and its cultural context.
The Solution:
A concept-driven album identity rooted in isolation, nostalgia, and quiet disconnection. Using a solitary house overlooking the coast, the design captures a sense of distance—both physical and emotional. Layered paper textures and fragmented typography reinforce the idea of displacement, turning absence and stillness into a visual narrative.
Design Highlights:
-
Torn paper typography introduces a physical sense of fragmentation, visually echoing the theme of being out of place.
-
A muted, sun-washed color palette creates a nostalgic and melancholic tone, inspired by coastal landscapes and memory.
-
Minimal, off-balance composition allows negative space and scale to emphasize isolation and emotional distance.
